Second night of Yule - The Wild Hunt
Sacred to Odin and Ancestors

https://thepaganandthepen.files.wordpress.com/2010/07/perseverance1.jpgOn this day we remind ourselves of the importance of Hearth and Home as our ancestors remind us to avoid the Wild Hunt, known as Odin's Hunt, the Wild Ride, the Raging Host or Yule Riders.  The Wild Hunt which began on Samhain or Halloween is now at its height.  Odin followed by the ghosts of the dead, would roam the skies, accompanied by furious winds, lightning and thunder, gathering lost souls (and everyone else) that was on the path of the Hunt.  Legend says that anyone unwary enough to be caught out at midnight on the Winter Solstice will be swept up by the Hunter and carried away.

On this day we remind ourselves of the virtue of Perseverance.  The will to see things through until the end in spite of fear, obstacles, discouragement, and opposition.  What is your objective?  Have you found your passion?
When you come to the end of your rope, tie a knot and hang on. ~ Franklin D. Roosevelt
Perseverance is the steadfastness in doing something despite difficulty or delay in achieving success.  Synonyms: persistence, tenacity, determination, purposefulness.

The Mouse teaches that persistence and devotion will eventually permit passage to a greater awareness.  You cannot achieve anything if you keep on quitting in everything.  Put your determination where your ambition is.  Success is a character that can only be acquired through perseverance and patience.  It is your perseverance determines the height of your success in life.  The most vital thing that you need to develop as you go through in this life should be perseverance and a positive mindset.
Perseverance is to remain focused.  When you are knocked down you coming back, and when one door closed you knocked the other one.  By any means you don’t give up instead you keep on trying. Henry Wadsworth Longfellow said,If you only knock long enough and loud enough at the gate, you are sure to wake up somebody.”
It's easy to get discouraged about projects, because all projects all have places where they stop being fun or where it looks like you're never going to get through them.  In fact, sometimes, you just fall on your face and make a mess.  Practicing perseverance means getting up and trying again or trying another way to do what has to be done.
http://infotel.ca/news/medialibrary/image/orig-mediaitemid5694-1236.pngWhat is failure?  Failure is when you give up when you stumble. It is when you lost aspiration and stop trying.  Failure like a detour is another alternative, it’s not a dead-end by itself.
On the other hand, if what you're trying to do is not worth your time and effort, you don't get credit for being stupid.  A lot of people have special talents, but people who "keep on keepin' on" will always do better than talented people who don't persevere.  The best combination of all is to persevere in learning how to use your special talents and in learning new skills and abilities.
Perseverance is commitment.  It is the ability to remain tough despite all odds.  You are called to overcome because the Gods have called you to freedom.  No matter how difficult your situation is right now keep focused, don’t stop dreaming, don’t stop pushing and pressing.  Never tell yourself this is too much for me.
And if you fail sometimes, that's okay too.  It's the people who fail and get past their failure that really succeed in life.  If you took a step back right now, what areas of your life would you recognize as times of sheer perseverance and determination of will?  Or is perseverance something you have found to be lacking in your life, perhaps something you need to work on?
Glad Yuletide to Everyone.  Hail!
